Schemmer is looking to hire a Manager of Civil Engineering to lead an engineering team in Central Iowa. This position will be based in Des Moines, IA. RESPONSIBILITIES

As the manager of the Central Iowa Engineering team at Schemmer, you will:

  • Oversee and accomplish the scope of services for all civil, municipal and transportation projects assigned to the team to ensure project assignments are completed on schedule and within budget.
  • Your experience as a project manager and familiarity with federal, state and local regulations will lead to developing and maintaining strong client relationships.  
  • Your strong business development skills will ensure that the team has adequate backlog to meet growth goals.
  • That combined with your high degree of technical expertise in engineering design and leadership skills will make you a great fit for this position!

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education BS, Civil Engineering
  • Licensed and/or certified professional in one or more core engineering competencies.
  • Existing client relationships with civil and municipal entities is a plus
  • 7 - 10 years of relevant engineering experience
  • Ability to lead, coordinate and communicate with all project team members
